Founded in 2009 by AJ Lovewins and Joseph Jacques, Harmonic Humanity was born from a simple but radical belief: music, story, and dignity can restore the human spirit. We are unbelievably grateful for the musicians and artists who bring this organization to life — those who lend their voices, talent, and heart to amplify the stories of those often unheard.
Harmonic Humanity is a hands-on humanitarian initiative devoted to restoring dignity, purpose, and economic empowerment for individuals experiencing homelessness. The model moves beyond temporary relief, creating pathways through employment, storytelling, creative collaboration, and structured personal development so participants can rebuild identity, income, and community from the inside out.
A central teaching tool in this work is The Hero’s Gamebook, written by Joseph Jacques. Through the framework of the Hero’s Journey, marginalized individuals learn to reinterpret adversity as initiation rather than failure — shifting from survival mode into authorship of their own story.
One powerful expression of this mission was the street-sold album HERO, distributed by homeless vendors as both income and message. The project featured artists including Jason Mraz, Michael Franti, Maroon 5, and Sarah McLachlan — amplifying the narrative that every person, regardless of circumstance, carries heroic potential.
